Server solutions designed by GetIT employ redundancy using standard technology such as RAID, as well as redundant power supplies. Virtualization technology can also be implemented wherever possible. For the ultimate redundancy safety net, clients can run a minimum of 2 servers, with a NAS appliance such as a Drobo Elite, acting as a centeral redundant storage device. Failure of physical server will cause actual production, (virtual), servers to restart on the available, still operable, physical server, minimizing downtime. Clustering technology with virtualization, and the use of live migration technologies also allows for physical hosts to be taken down during production hours for upgrades or replacement without interrupting production server availablity.
